If i post anymore photos of Noel, people might start thinking there’s something going on! However, I like the attitude that he puts forward to the camera. Of course all of Slashed Seat Affair are a bunch of good looking people yet it is Noel who photographs with that ’something else’.

Over the summer I’ve shot well over 30 bands in various venues. Over that time I felt the need to invest in new equipment, in this case a very specific lens. Previously I’ve been shooting with a 70-200mm F2.8 that has been great for 50% of general shots, but because I’ve been moving into gig photography I need a wider lens that allows me to get right to the front, but also give a broader scope in my photos; hence my purchase of the excellent Nikon 24-70 F2.8. I strongly advise getting the Nikon lens as opposed to the Sigma equivalent.
Fast forward a few weeks to now and now I’m looking at yet another lens; the Nikon 14-24 F2.8. I don’t actually NEED this lens, but it would be a great weapon to use in tight areas, crowd shots and amazing distorts at close focal ranges. Just have a look at Todd’s use of this lens below:
However, the real conundrum is justifying the price of this lens compared to my ultimate purchase… the Nikon D3. For now, I’ll continue to shoot with my the awesome lenses I currently have. I cannot stress enough how very very cool my 50mm, 70-200mm and 24-70mm are for gig shoots. With wedding season coming up very soon, I’ll be pushing these lenses to the limits. Low light, fast and tight focusing and creative options.
I think the last word should be left to you…do you think I should get this lens or the Nikon D3 bad boy?

Charismatic and very photogenic are obvious traits of Ms Parsons. What was also interesting was the amount of male attention she got. I swear a saw a lot of men just stop talking she was walking near them. Unfortunately I never got the chance to say hello other than to ask her to look my way during shoots.
I would have liked to spoken to her and get more photos, however I had a job to do and no matter how gorgeous she is I was not going to be distracted… ok… I was a little distracted!

I photographed an intimate gig last night in Hounslow (London). The drummer Phil Page is promoting a book he has just published. I will be posting those images later, but I just HAD to show you this amazing drum kit he used. I lost count of how many toms, crashes, rides and snares he has.

The lads performed in front of a pretty packed King’s Head courtyard. The lighting was simply amazing and Bob the sound guy was working hard. Everything was in place for some great photos and these unmodified ones are just a few of my favourites.

Welcome to my humble little blog. There is no purpose to this blog other than to focus on 99% photography and as a hub for things I find on the 'net. My opinions are the mad ramblings of photographer who likes to share things with the internet community.
