Airbrushing is a term commonly used to make photographs of Cover Girls look perfect. But what is misunderstood is Airbrushing is just a small part of a bigger process to make photographs look better. The best way to explain this is to use photos to illustrate this.

This photo of the bride has had some obvious and not so obvious enchancements. The most noticable to the naked eye is brightness and blemishes. But if you look closer you can see some hair infront of her face has been removed, the colour has been boosted up as well as lifting up the lighting to give it that studio feel.

The photograph on the left was taken outside in changeable weather so the colour does not look natural. Also there are minor freckles and blemishes which are hardly noticable but make a big difference. The colour tone, exposure and hair removal was all that is needed.

| The photo on the left looked flat and is in need of depth. Depth is created by light and shadow so that was added. In this case, the subject is young enough not to have any blemishes so nothing was done to him, but some enhancements was done to the eyes to make them sparkle a bit more. |
